Re: 5Kw charging basic wiring

With those integrated drive units inverter boost charging is a bit more challenging as you somehow need to access motor terminal 1 or 3. Yes you need a 240V bridge rectifier. The "-" of the rectifier goes directly to your battery "-" and the "+" goes to phase 1 or 3. An...

Re: [DRIVING] Audi A2 /w Prius Gen2 Transaxle & Inverter [FINISHED]

I visited Thomas yesterday and we worked on the various issues. The most pressing one was GFCI or breaker trips when charging. Turned out the metal casing of the BMS made intermittent contact with one of the battery poles! Very noticeable burn marks. We swapped the metal LBC cover for the plastic on...

Edit2: In https://www.keil.com/dd/docs/datashts/s ... f10xxx.pdf Table 33 they explain that "freeing" the PB4 is confibured in SWJ_CFG[2:0]. The clara application seems to configure this in main() by gpio_primary_remap(AFIO_MAPR_SWJ_CFG_JTAG_OFF_SW_ON, ...) Could this be taken-over into t...

Re: [DRIVING] VW Touran powered by Nissan Leaf [FINISHED]

Sorry, missed that. Yes I do monitor the temperature and it barely changes. The cable run is 2x2m @ 50mm² and 2x1m @ 35mm². And I'm not sure if the charger measures before or after its own roughly 4-5m charging cable. Then of course we have the bus bars themselves The warmest one of them all is stil...

Re: Foccci wakeup/sleep discussions

160 ms is about the boot loader wait time. This is the intended one: https://github.com/jsphuebner/stm32-CANBootloader/ This raises the question whether the pin init is defunct in foccci for some reason. Will investigate when I'm back home If anyone wants to take a peek https://github.com/jsphuebner...

Does it run the latest or recent firmware? It instructs pull-down in boot loader.
Probably still a good idea to fit pull down resistors

Re: [DRIVING] 1940 Chevrolet with Tesla Motor

Other options would be Model S OBC, dual Outlander OBC or SAIC (MG ZS) OBC that Damien hacked lately. But since yanks are cracking down on Chinesium the latter might be rare

You could hack Foccci to produce the necessary CAN messages as they aren't very complex

Re: First-Time Config of FOCCI And CCS1 vehicle charging

On boards that I ship now I flash CHAdeMO CAN mapping. If you have an earlier one you have to add this yourself. https://openinverter.org/wiki/CCS32Clara#Making_Clara_talk_CHAdeMO_on_the_CAN_side Right now the CAN mapping must be updated once by refreshing the page. So after you enter nodeid 22 refr...

Re: Gs450h inverter: can zombieverter VCU control boost converter

The boost converter cannot be used. It will limit, not increase power as all current passed through the boost inductor, whether boosted or not. You have to connect to the inverters DC bus directly to get any meaningful power. Same thoughts as Aragorn, just fit a powerful NMC pack. Plugin-Hybrid pack...

Re: Drawing power out of CCS port (V2x, inverse charging, bidirectional CCS)

Once the charge port relays are closed the battery voltage is applied to the pins and you don't need to apply it yourself anymore.
Nice converter! Make sure the battery voltage doesn't back feed, so either there is a diode on board or you have to add one externally

Anyone still watching?

I think I'm up against something else. In the article Pete posted the disturbance looked like this:

So 6x the motor frequency and sinusoidal. The disturbance in my plot as triangular shape and 2x motor frequency. Could it be some other artefact?

Old cars... Where mine is just 20 years old. Camber can no longer be adjusted because the eccentric bolt has become one with the subframe. So sooner or later I'll just swap the entire rear axle

Bidirectional charger with PV Hybrid inverter and pyPLC

I think all the building blocks are there to create a (partially) open bidirectional DC EV charger. Ingredients - Commercial battery or hybrid inverter allowing 400V battery voltage (e.g. SMA, Growatt etc) - Alternative 1: pure PV inverter with settable power limit and some hacked OBC for charging -...
