Hi,
Does anyone have the part numbers of the connectors needed for the BMS? The part number in the wiki page seem to be the ones further apart on the wiring harness. I'm especially searching for the connectors for LB13 and LB14.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
This problem is still there, tried with another station of the same kind. I've seen that tom91 had exactly that problem where the precharge voltage was there but contactors wouldn't close. I think Jack Bauer pointed him that he did set the maximum A in 0x2F1 to 0 which apparently was the cause ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
one more question, in anticipation of the next step, my current sensor reads a positive value when I use current from the battery when driving, and a negative current when I charge. so when i go to charge it will report negative current to the lim, is this correct or not?
Positive amperage is ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
thanks for the answer
I understand that I have to make a request for the Amp needed in the message 0х112 d0 and d1 and this request must necessarily correlate with the request in Watts from the message 0х3Е9 d0 and d1
Message 0x112 comes from the BMS and should the be the actual amperage. Not ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
Bytes 0x00 and 1x00 in message 0x112 show battery current and in all your logs normally it is mentioned 0xf9 and 1x1f, are these indicators stable (fixed) or these bytes have to show real values?
Byte 0 and 1 are battery current, right. Note that it has a factor of 0.1 and an offset of 819. So ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
Hi
I have a problem charging at a HyperCharger station. It gets inte state 5 but then waits for the connectors to close. But apparently they dont. I havent really be able to figure out why. Any hints? See attached log. Ignore the CHAdeMO frames in it ;-)
Thanks
Christoph

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
While I appreciate the contribution (more than you might imagine!) I'll hold off making any changes to the vcu firmware as I have not personally encountered this problem in almost a year of some very intensive CCS charging during a house move.
Now I've seen you merged it. I still had problems ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
Meh, my LIM stopped locking the charging port when I plug in 😕 I measured the lock, it’s 1 kΩ unlocked, 11 kΩ locked as it should be.
I checked the connection cable: fine. Fun fact: when locking manually, it does unlock by itself when done with CCS charging. So it should not be any cabling.
What ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
In case of CCS I simulate a CHAdeMO charge. In case of AC it will switch to the onboard stock charger immediately. So in both cases you won't be able to drive away.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
If I decide to switch CC and CP signal with a relay, what would be the indicator for the relay to know if it's open or closed. Which signal can i use to recognize if a Type2 or CCS plug is plugged in?
I actually do this for my Nissan Leaf. I.e. switching CP/PP between LIM and the stock charger ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
That's my next step after upgraded my 2016 leaf to 62kWh battery with Dala's firmware and can bridge.
I've already LIM module and contactors, I still need:
1) CCS plug
2) voltage sensor to trigger LIM
@christoph could you share schematic and sw you used to trigger carging? is it a legacy Nissan ...

Looks like the algorithm in CCS_Pwr_Con thought it would be cool to ask for 126A despite I_Avail just 125.
That should fix it. Will test soon.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
You have 2 issues one is timing based and the other is isolation based. I have resolved both in my version of coding.
Timing:
if(Cont_Volts==0)lim_stateCnt++; //we wait for the contactor voltage to return to 0 to indicate end of cable test
if(lim_stateCnt>20)
{
if(CCS_Iso==0x1) lim_state ...

If you know you have issues with Chademo stations then this is most likely your issue.
Please obtain an isolation tester for better information.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
That is your call to make if you are not confident in your understanding and ability, do not do any of this. You really need an proper isolation measurement device capable of applying up to 1000V across points.
Yeah, unfortunately I don't have that :-(
I did now at least measure the resistance ...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
I have seen this issue before as you can see in the thread and it was isolation related. It did not communicate the fault all the way onto the canbus properly though so it was a hunt to find the issue.
I looked at your log and yes, the behaviour is pretty much the same. The Nissan Leaf has a ...
