Re: HOWTO: Flashing with ST-Link v2

Hi,the new boards use a new SWD connector. What type of connector should I use?

This push-pin SWD-connector is sort of proprietary. Its cheap to produce on PCB, but the connector is way too expensive. Please do not support this connector and just solder the wires on the pads. When done with ...

HOWTO: Fix error 'SPIFFS: mount failed' on esp8266 and esp32

I had error 'SPIFFS: mount failed' on esp8266 and on esp32. The fix was different on both and because i spend some time figuring it out, here my experience about it:

If you have a esp8266 or esp32 that had no openinverter web interface running before on it and would like to install https://github ...

Next on my list (depending on the feedback):

Migrate the filesystem to LittleFS to get rid of the warnings if people find it worthy (SPIFFS is deprecated - works fine but will certainly stop being available at some point)

I had issues with SPIFFS and also find out its deprecated. I could ...

Re: ESP32 Based Web Interface & Data Logger

From some experiences I learned that the ESP is picky regarding the power supply. Wifi causes supply current peaks, and if this leads to certain voltage drops, it causes random effects.

I can confirm this.ESP32 cant run on 3.3Volt in the same style like the esp8266 can. The current peaks on ...

Re: Type 2 to CHAdeMO Converter/Charger?

I like the most possible freedom those self build chargers give to the people. They are fully OpenSource and you can also name them OpenHardware.
If i choose a way too high current for the IGBT and overshoot the typical 150°C max rating of the IGBT, the IGBT would of course explode. This is full ...

Re: Type 2 to CHAdeMO Converter/Charger?

There are also 11kW public chargers, and drawing 22kW from them could blow the fuse. Means: evaluating the PWM makes sense.
And: There are public chargers with fix cable and plug. Means: Having a type 2 socket in the charger gives more flexibility.

The power of the chargers is listed in the ...

I am working on this project for many months. I hope to release a full build documentation on this in the next months.
The part you seem to be struggling with is by far the most simple one. You want 22kW power from a type2 socket you can in general find on the streets. Nothing more simple then that ...

Planning to use one of these in Touran but got worried reading through the thread that it is not possible to output less than 14.4V from the DC/DC. Is that still the state of science? I also wonder what happens if you feed a little higher voltage to the feedback pin, i.e. real voltage+0.4V. Would ...

Since the JLCPCB has a minimum quantity of five, and the boards are working better than expected, I could provide it if somebody is interested. Could also bundle it with QCA, controller and SPI-FLASH. (I do not plan to create a shop, just offering the few leftover parts.)

You can build as a fallback a manual adapter to activate by hand the AC current to a 32A CEE plug. You can get a cheap PCB here if you want it as compact as possible.

Good quality used pure sine wave 12V DC -> 230V AC inverters cost today with about 1kW power 100€ in germany.
But DIY is always a more freedom respecting solution :)
Sadly the example is using some linear regulating crap that kills efficiency. 7805, 7812 and so on should not be used any more ...
