Lithium balance LiBal BMS
Thought I start a thread on this BMS. I bought one little bit over a year ago and now is the time to program it. I have Kia soul batteries. Anyone with experience on it? Is the software only possible to install via pc? Thanks for any comment

Re: Inverter doesnt start
I did manage to precharge this last weekend. I opened the inverter and found a connector that hadnt clicked in properly. After that it was no problem. I supplied 12v, set udcsw and min dc voltage to 0 and did precharge msnually then started the inverter and testspinned. Such a great feeling

Re: Tesla SDU forward direction
I just testspinned my SDU this weekend and I have two questions. Exactly how should I apply the command switchReversed in the user interface?
Also there is a kind of cogging sound when the motor spins, is that common and no problem or something that needs a fix? There is no oil in it yet

Re: Inverter doesnt start
Just a dumb question here catphish; you mean I should do a manual precharge sequence before I even supply the inverter with 12v ? Then I supply 12 v and press startbutton? When giving 12v I would still need to set udcmin to like 30v or so right? Any other parameter I need to set?

Re: Inverter doesnt start
I was just thinking there should be a way to disable it but realise the parameter I had seen was tripnode saying PrechargeOn. But that doesnt help.. the fuses I have is a 10A for the 12V and a 400A for the HV. Perhaps I should use a smaller fuse for the HV.. will try to do the precharge sequence via ...

Re: Inverter doesnt start
I do the precharge sequence manually without the help of the sdu, measuring ghe voltage between the poles on the inverter. Will check again the shielding on the HV cables. Should I disable the prechargesequence in the inverter altogether?

Re: Inverter doesnt start
I should perhaps add that when I attempted a first precharge I could feel the resistor getting hot and So I closed everything down. I then found out the negative HV cable was in contact with the SDU cover so it was shortcircuited for some seconds apart from the resistor.. could this have harmed any ...

Inverter doesnt start
Hi
Im about to testrun my SDU and have setup everything to start it off, when supplying 12v I get access to the interface but when I start the inverter in manual mode opmode is still off. Version is 4.85.R-sine. Shouldnt opmode be showing something like ”on in manual mode”? I also try to start it ...

I bought a gaming joystick to use as a selector. But most project I seen have a knob. Does the signal input for fwd, backwrd need to be constant or can they be of pulse type?

Re: Tesla Parameters Thread
Thanks Johannes,
Another question; Im having the SDU in opposite direction. Is there any way to change the fwd/reverse direction in the parameters or does it matter? Im thinking about the cruise, does it work in rev direction? And the CAN signal, does it give negative speed when going in reverse?

Hi
I have a SDU fitted into an alfa 147. I wonder about the brake signal that goes into pin 10. Is it enough to have the brake light switch from pin 15 to steer the regen?

Re: SDU external oil pump
Interesting! I will also buy something similar as that BMW pump. I have a small front drive unit intended for an alfa romeo 147, going in reverse. I took off the plastic wheel from the existing pump and will use the drainplug to take the oil to the external pump. I have 3D printed a pirce with an ...

Re: SDU Logic board V6
The ”powestage” connector in the open source logic board is a couple of mm thicker than the one in the original teslaboars. It makes it difficult to fit.

The same thing happened tome a few hours ago. Great to see this information
Mr Stinny, did you succeed to change the sensor?
There seems to be two hall sensors, are both needed anyway?

Very interesting! Im doing a similar project. Small tesla driveunit in an alfaromeo147 with a board from damien. Did you use the teslaframe to mount the motor or built your own frame?
