Re: Prius gen3 buck/boost [SOLVED]

It is working now, for some reason the 12v power supply was being pulled to 5V and I didn’t realize it.

I replaced the power supply and all is well now. Thanks Jrbe and Matts

Re: Prius gen3 buck/boost [SOLVED]

IMG_2387.jpeg Yes, Atmel of Damien board, the V2 for Prius gen 3. I am not close to it to get a picture right now.

I mean I am seeing 4.7v coming from the Uno IO pin going to the base of the transistor which is pulling the boost HI line to ground.

Seeing how the pwm transistors are driven in a ...

Re: Prius gen3 buck/boost [SOLVED]

The Uno is driving a non transistor which is pulling the boost hi line on the 50way connector to ground.

The high voltage from the uno is 4.7v which passes through a 1K resistor connected to the base of the transistor (MMBT3904).

The boost Hi line from the 50way connector is connected to the ...

Re: Prius gen3 buck/boost [SOLVED]

Thank you @jrbe, I finally found the first error which was from the pin assignment on the boost converter code in the wiki not the same layout as the uno on my board. I have now corrected the pin assignment now and seeing the IO pin being driven high/lo for the drive lines.

However, doing a ground ...

Re: Prius gen3 buck/boost [SOLVED]

It’s okay Matts.

Yh I mean buck/boost. It’s doing my head in unable to get it to run. It appears the high side is always turned on by default as powering through the battery bus shows input voltage on the DC bus, should that be happening or do I have a short on my IGBT?

Prius gen3 buck/boost [SOLVED]

I need some help with getting the buck/boost converter on the Prius gen3 inverter to work using OI board (Damien V2). I have never been able to get the buck/boost converter to work despite reading the wiki, forums and watching videos.

My target is to get the module to boost 24v to 48v to drive a ...

Parameters database down

Has anyone been able to access the parameters database? It returns a blank screen when trying to access it.

Re: Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

I will try that.

What will you advice I look into to resolve a situation where the motor keeps running on max speed if throttle is applied fast and won't obey throttle press until inverter is stopped?

Re: Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

@arber333 A very big hug from me to you. After hours troubleshooting, I decided to recheck my MG2 resolver wiring and discovered that I had wired it backward as a result of wrong orientation. It is working now on MG2 though I am still getting pauses while it's running.

@johu Thank you too for the ...

Re: Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

Verify your resolver connection. PMSM motors will do that if they dont see correct rotor position info.
Do you use OEM cable? How do you connect resolver on inverter side?

I also think you may need more dc voltage. More than 60Vdc would be good...

The resolver connections are correct because ...

Yes, I can turn the wheel shaft cup facing the splined shaft. Turning the cup rotates the splined shaft but I’m unable to turn the cup for the other wheel facing the external oil pump.

Re: Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

So another update, it seems parking brake isn't the issue with the MG2 but the motor won't rotate. Pressing the throttle pedal will make it want to move but will give a clunking sound and stutter. I have switched phase connections around without success.

I am quite confused on what to do now.

Re: Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

Great, I returned to post about the success after moving over to MG1 but retrying on MG2 I discovered the parking brake is engaged and I am unable to disengage it, is there anyway I can disable the parking brake?

Also, after switching over the first and last phase cables I was able to get MG1 ...

Re: Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

:D It’s okay, I’m back for more help.

I was unable to get it to spin using manualid in FOC. Is the wiring right in this format?

Inverter MG2 port —- 1,2,3 connected to transaxle MG2 port —- 1,2,3 in that order

When applying manualid with any current value, the motor doesn’t spin but gets very ...

Re: Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

Thank you @johu.

I got it to spin by increasing boost to 25,000. Is that safe?

Also do you have an idea if there's a link to read about all the parameters?

Motor stuttering on test bench, help needed [SOLVED]

Hello everyone, this is my first attempt at using the OI prius G3 board by Damien.

I have setup the connections and testing with a 55V HV battery with appnum set to 100 and fslip set to 10 but the motor keeps stuttering and struggling to rotate. I have checked connections and verified they are ...
