Doesn't that grey gizmo do all the electrical switch at each lever position? Wouldn't it be easier to add a wire to the stop light switch to trigger the Park lock?

As far as shifter position, would it be possible to reuse the cable from the B&M shifter, so the Lexus shifter mounts in a similar ...

Is you take out the alarm, how will people know you are about to move the beast? You will need to install sound emitting devices so people in the parking lot will know you intend to move in a different direction ......

Are you going to use the original Lexus selector?

Good point, might be worth installing the sun gear and maybe even assembling the planetary set into the ring gear, before welding, at least the first tack on each planetary gear to the carrier, that way teeth alignment will at least remain once the planetary set is welded up.

By locking the ICE motor, with a disc brake on the front pulley for instance, this would be the same as locking the input shaft so both MG1 and MG2 were only driven by the battery current being controlled by the Zombie controlled inverter, with the ICE released and fuel supplied, the output of the ...

It certainly lights them up out of the water ...... the lower tyre pressure might help, but avoiding turning the tyre inside the rim becomes an issue, but the tyre people might have answers for that and an idea just how low the pressure can go without destroying the sidewalls or spinning the rims ...

How many cells? These work great for smaller voltage battery packs, 16S 48v nom. You can overlap the last cell on the first balancer with the first on the second balancers and add another 15 cells and so on, but they aren't cheap to buy

Watched hrs and hrs of the Motor trend live feed, but not live, you can't do 4 x sp live and I didn't want to lose the will to live Saw a number of the stumble starts and guessed it was a traction/current spike issue ..... is there a work around for that?

It would be a very big undertaking for me, I live in Australia, getting the car there would be only half the challenge, getting it legal to drive on US roads would be something I'd have to investigate, and do it all before I'm too old to actually attempt such a mammoth effort.

I wonder if your display could be used on the Lexus GS450h drive unit and inverter with the Zombi inverter board fitted, and with the Gen 2 Prius and inverter with a Zombi board fitted ..... Hope so, that looks neat .....

There is significant difference between your transmission and mine. And also how they are mounted to the frame I see. I've been examining them from yours and my pictures. I also included a pic of the gear reduction axle transmission.

The MG4 battery pack is 104 cells, to add another 4 NMC cells to make a 108 cell pack only increases it to 432v fully charged, hardly worth the effort, but 2 x 92 cell LFP battery packs in series produces 625v fully charged at 3.4v .... it does involve 2 isolated 320v chargers if you were looking to ...

I'll be keeping an eye on this one, so thank you for starting it. My original plan was to use the 400v platform battery from one of my MG4s, 385vdc nom. (416vdc @ 4v per cell fully charged) for the NMC 64kwh battery and 332vdc nom. (360v @ 3.45vdc per cell fully charged) for the smaller 51kwh LFP ...

As far as I am aware no-one has fully reverse engineered driving or controlling the GS450h boost converter.


Bugga, ya might have got me there, every chance I've got my wires crossed with the Prius inverter, too many projects getting researched at the same time .... or ...

Not sure what charger you would use ..... the Lexus GS 450h is not a plug in hybrid, it relied on the V6 driving MG1 to both charge the battery and power MG2 ..... The battery was really only there to spin MG1 to start the V6 .....

Are you driving on electric only? The original Lexus GS 450h battery has very little capacity, so it wouldn't drive very far ....

Any reason you didn't use the Buck/Boost in the top of the Lexus inverter? Or are you still powering the inverter through that?
