Also, the car is rege'd!
Enjoying driving it around whilst I still can, in all of its infinte gas guzzling, dinosaur burning, planet killing, noisy and stinky glory.

Re: Toyota GT86 | Gs450h | 8kWh LTO
Sounds like a great project - good luck and I will follow with interest. I am in the middle of my EV project on a 2006 RA Rodeo upin Brisbane. I originaly wanted to use the GS450h transmission, but gave up after 6 months of looking, as I could not find one for a reasonable price. At $1500 I’d say ...

Re: Gs450h inverter: can zombieverter VCU control boost converter
For instance if you've got 2kwh of LTO and 30kwh of NMC, then even if the LTO cells can do 10x the C rating of the NMC ones, you can still get more power out of the NMC pack because of its vastly larger capacity.

Not at this stage, happened ahead of finding this O inv platform, however aiming to revisit the project, and start a thread. So sorry this has been to one side whilst learning and exploring hybrid options in a Bedford van, and gs300h L210 transmission focus. Wip

Comparing the 3210 to a 3204, the only difference is the missing ferrite bead (I think that's what that is) on the bottom left corner of the board, and the label applied to the brick. (The Nano-fits on the 3204 were a manual modification and not how it originally came ...

xp677 I've done some more web scraping and found your old thread on the diyelectriccar forums, I didn't realise you were a major contributor to the reverse engineering of the gs450h, amazing!

Re: Charging one battery from another as an alternative to parallel packs.
I plan to implement this in my gs450h based conversion. Super glad others have had the same idea. I'll definitely share the details once I get up to that stage, but still on early stages of conversion for me so its a while away.

Hi Phillip, those are really amazing battery boxes!
Do you have plans for the battery box frame that replaces the fuel tank that you would be willing to share?

Re: GS450h Buck/Boost Converter control
Really cool project! I'd also be interested in using the converter to charge from a DC source like a LV solar battery. It'd be necessary to implement a current limit.

Thanks for the prompt updates!
It looks like the sales rep I was speaking to didn't really know what they were talking about, so the inbuilt CAN is isolated. Does anyone have the datasheet?

I've been looking around for BMS options and have landed on this project. I'm trying to prioritize cost and this seems most effective.

I'm fairly new to the world of ev conversions and am particularly interested in a gt86 conversion.
The two 86 conversions I've seen so far is yours and zaptero's completed build. Interested to see if the lexus transmission form factor will give you much more engine bay space for batteries...

That's a huge shame. Best of luck with life and hope to see you back with some great projects.
Your 86 conversion was brilliant. newbie here but that has put pipe dreams in my head to try the same some day.
