Re: Charging with Leaf PDM and Type 2 socket
After much testing using a resistor decade box connected to the PP connection, I now realise the issue is because I am using a Type 2 socket in place of the Type 1 that is standard with the Leaf.
The Type 1 plug has the switch on it that puts a 150 ohm resistor on PP to confirm fully connected and ...

V2.30 Nissan Leaf PDM Charging issue
I am using a Type 2 port so from reading the post you mention above, I may need to add or change a resistor to suit the Leaf input.
Appreciate your time Tom.

Charging with Leaf PDM and Type 2 socket
I have just updated the V2.30 Zombie update on my Peugeot 106 with a Leaf drive unit and Orion BMS.
I can confirm that the reverse is now fully operational.
The Leaf charging fix for Low Current PP detection is still not working.
I use a 16A cable with a charger set to 16A in my garage due to ...

The latest firmware release v2.22a has a weak reverse which I assume will be fixed on the next one.
Beware of throtramprpm and leave it set to 20,000 as any rpm over a lower setting allows full power uncontrolled acceleration as I found when setting it to 1000.
Seriously scary!

I also have the same issue when "Auto Refresh" is set on to display spot values.
It often requires multiple screen refreshes on Chrome to sort.

Re: zombieverter irratic torque demand in VCM CAN message
My project only seems to require the reverse torque increase to be added to the gold version although I may go back and try v2.31TH as that had all the functionality apart from the request HV input I will us with an Orion BMS controlled Chademo.

No, just made the change and it seems OK now. That is scary though.
What is that parameter used for.
I am testing with the wheels in the air so it's not a proper test until I can go on the road.

Not sure how to save a plot and its easier to take a pic of the plot.
Pot volts is Red and Potnom is Blue. Due to the immediate increase in rpm, the vertical drop on the red trace is me taking my foot off the pedal.
You can see the spike on the Potnom trace.

Re: Notes on Zombie v2.2a update
So you wired the BMS up/configured to only send CAN messages when in Run or Charging mode?
Yes. The Orion has an "always on" supply that takes a negligible current but wakes up immediately when its power on is connected.
I hadn't realised that the Leaf PDM was staying awake due to the BMS on ...

Should the coolant flow be reversed then too, to enter through the physically lower port and exit via the physically higher port? Or doesn’t matter?

I managed a simple work around that may be of interest to others.

Re: Notes on Zombie v2.2a update
Had a long think on this and cannot see how to enable the BMS when the Zombie detects a plug is inserted.
I cannot use the HV contactors as a trigger as it needs the BMS first.
I did try using the Water pump output as that came on instantly as the plug is inserted but the Zombie doesn't wait for the ...

Re: Notes on Zombie v2.2a update
Ok great, might be getting somewhere.
It is an Orion BMS and will be sending CAN messages as it is left running (140mA) to allow charging with ignition off as there doesn't seem to be an output from Zombie to wake up the BMS when the charge plug is sensed.
Will stop the BMS and see what happens ...

Anyone planning to use the VW heater MUST install it upside down that is with the power sockets at the bottom as you get mini explosions due to inner airlocks inside the heater. It works brilliantly when installed correctly controlled by LIN comms.

The size code for these 2mm long parts is 0805 (2012") and will add to the Wiki description when I receive them on Monday to confirm this is correct as there are many different SMD sizes.
We seem to be at the same point on our Leaf Stack testing.

Re: VAG heater on Zombie
Just followed @J0hannes suggestion and note that I must have an older board as R50 is 1802 (18K) so guess C45 is also incorrect.
R50 should be 1K and C45 1n.
@tom91 please ignore my earlier post and I will swap the parts over.

Just testing the Fwd/Rev power and the latest trial mod is excellent with plenty of power in reverse.
On the Leaf drive unit application I feel that the Throtramp units of %/10ms should ideally be %/100ms as I have it set to 1% and still is pretty fierce with easy wheelspin in Fwd on my front wheel ...

There is a bug in the 2.20 release, so the LIN doesn't work properly. Also you may need physical modification on your Zombie board, depending on the board you have.
