Hi guys. I have a midas kit car which is mini/metro based. Keen to follow this chain as its mini based. I have bought a few mitsubishi outlander items. (rear motor and drive shafts, coolant water heater, inverter/converter and the controller. what else is recommended to go with this setup?

Bmw hybrid batteries (6mods) are a tight fit in front of mini, not sure how they’ll fit in the midas, I think pete’s opto mini ran on five, gregski has some great youtube videos using the zombie with the bmw battery pack, you can pick the battery pack up quite cheaply, try to get the sp41 12kw. The older ones are the same dimensions but only 9kw

Thanks for the pointers. I will take a look at the BMW sp41 packs. My midas is a mk3 coupe so has a metro a series subframe in it, which I am hoping is just a touch bigger than the mini one.

Zombieverter needs an IVT shunt to get voltage readings.

Hello, Im looking at doing something similar with the mounting of the drive unit Pedro, albeit on a metro subframe, I can see you used some kind of box section at the front inside of the front crossmember. I am guessing thats what you used those silver nuts for to clamp it to the front. How did you stabilise the rear of the motor/diff unit?

Ím going to use the sbox that comes in the bmw pack, it can be selected in zombie shunt menu

Bolted a piece of 25 square in to beef it up as the subframe flexes easily at the front, the fixings are 8mm unistrut channel nuts, all i had at the time, they are great to weld on as captive nuts, you just need to clean the galv off first. The rear mount is just a droplink type bracket i welded up bolted through the subframe with one bolt at the minute, i will beef this up when everything comes out for bodywork. I just used bits of offcuts i had lying around from other stupid ideas i ve had in the past, also used some foot plates i had left over from building some metal stairs, all totally overkill but as i want to build it out of as much recycled material as possible i dont mind

I would think it will be, there will definitely be more room up front and maybe a little more height, i’m considering a clubman front now the dvla rules have changed. My batteries are really tight to squeeze in so that little extra will really help
