so then I threw her on our mobile motor shifter stand using the custom Nissan Xterra to Lexus GS450h Douglas fir adapter

Lexus GS450h Nissan Xterra Shifter 1.jpg

and here I am shifting it almost perfectly using the hole I drilled for that B&M shifter for the GM TH350 transmission, this was working about 98% flawlessly, perfect cable alignment in Park and Drive, and a little short in Reverse and Neutral ie at the peak of that lever arc, so some adjustments need to be made

FYI the cable bracket is attached using its stock holes to the ground strap bolt hole on the gearbox, and I think it needs to move slightly upwards

Last Auto I had was a Merc C Class.
It had a really nice shifter and being a C Class it would need to be compact.

Just a thought.

I am just loving the modularibility of this Nissan Xterra center console shifter combo, bless this Nissan engineers for using screws and not those god forsaken plastic clips that get brittle over time and snap right off

"I for some reason love these solutions where it takes 2 people to hold a bolt."

I see you follow the opposite school of thought as Dan Gelbart:

"You can slide it off with removing the screws. I cannot overemphasize how important it is to make everything with keyholes and slots and captive hardware, because if you spend all of your life in R&D, you'll spend about one year of your life taking screws out of covers. So if you do it in slots, it's the same as extending your life by the same amount as health food and exercise extends your life, but it's much simpler."

Also, definitely don't go watch his entire prototyping series beginning to end. Suddenly 6 hours of your life will be gone, but worse, you'll realize the hundreds of hours of your life you've been doing things the hard way.

Me: "Um, no! I own an operate a Chevy"

Maintenance = Good

having to do "maintenance" on brand new aftermarket parts that are only 18 months old with less than 3,000 miles on them = Gross
