Bubbling/bulging on capacitor - Gen3 Prius Inverter

This is my first time attempting anything to do with electronics or EVs, so forgive me if this question is stupid.
I finally managed to get my inverter casing split apart, and I noticed that the capacitor has this bubble on the surface. All other pictures of the insides of inverters have shown this to be smooth.
I haven't used the inverter yet, I am opening it up in order to install a v1c board and try running a Gen2 transaxle.
Is this something I should be worried about - a sign that the inverter has overheated, will fail prematurely, or is junk? Or shall I just keep going with the project?
Hopefully you can see the photos I attached.
