Hi,

to get my car road legal i'm afraid i have to install an AVAS unit as there are new laws in germany.
Has anyone experience with that?

If the unit would be "standalone" and be driven by 12v and CanBUS it would be very easy. I'd just had to translate the speed signal so the AVAS unit of another car (Leaf, Zoe etc...) would understand the signals and emit the sounds.

Zero EV in the UK had a controller... I don't see it on their website but worth asking them.

I also seem to remember the Fully Charged Show giving away a device as a prize on their podcast. Maybe worth checking that out.

First make sure you actually need AVAS. Regulation for converted cars and production cars are different. To my knowledge "VdTÜV 764" is still valid. The newest version is from 2017, so you should check it out: https://www.vdtuev.de/shop/merkblaetter ... art:int=10
