My wife bought a 2019 160kw / 62kwh Leaf (gen 3 inverter.) it's staying stock.ianlighting wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 5:34 pm Does anyone know the height of the later Leaf PDM? I know the lid looks a little different to the earlier domed ones. I am height constrained so may consider swapping the PDM, but I can’t find dimensions anywhere.
Thanks
Yeah it's in the car, makes it tough to get a good picture. Measurements are from the dots of each layer (bosses to top cover.)
Yes this is what's underneath the black plastic but this is the latest what I call a gen4 unit. I have those for sale too, they come from 2023 and onwards Nissan Leafs and are made by Toyota. They are the smallest so far but I have tested them and found them not working with ZombieVCU. So the controlls are different. The inverter itself also did not work. I have posted CAN logs on the forum for somebody to take a look. Your best bet is to have a gen3 PDM for now.ianlighting wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 1:49 pm But it has just occurred to me that perhaps this is what is hidden underneath the black plastic of the later PDM?
Gen3 PDM height (not the one in the photo) is ~21cm without the black plastic cover.ianlighting wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 1:49 pm and can measure accurately the height that would be useful.
Very useful thank you.
That looks like the same as the 2023 62Kwh PDM< I have on a recent car we have in the workshop, have powered with Resolve but with older SW and some issues, but may be resolved with a FW Updateianlighting wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 4:49 pm Very useful thank you.
You mentioned the gen4 not being compatible with zombie, also useful info. In my case, im using Resolve-EV, so im going to hold fire on any decisions until I hear back incase they support the gen4.
Much appreciated.
Ok, that sounds promising. Has Isak / Resolve given you any firm commitment on looking at it or fixing it?NickoSynergy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 8:33 am That looks like the same as the 2023 62Kwh PDM< I have on a recent car we have in the workshop, have powered with Resolve but with older SW and some issues, but may be resolved with a FW Update
I haven't contacted Isak, but I see that there's a FW Update available, it works of sorts but keeps revs up when you go over a certain threshold, seemed to work OK with the 2019 40Kwh I ran it on before, which had a Torque Trends box attached, will keep you posted.ianlighting wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 9:31 am Ok, that sounds promising. Am I right in thinking the latest PDM does not provide Chademo rapid charging via Resolve?
I’ve seen that revs thing. But it was on my 2014 Leaf, and with whatever Resolve version was shipped out about 6 months ago. I asked Isak about it. He did talk about a newer version which I didn’t put on yet. When I reported it, it was with a bench test, so no vehicle load. Having put that original version into a vehicle I can see that the continuous revving isn’t really a problem. Friction and vehicle weight beats the motor’s motion.NickoSynergy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 2:49 pm I haven't contacted Isak, but I see that there's a FW Update available, it works of sorts but keeps revs up when you go over a certain threshold, seemed to work OK with the 2019 40Kwh I ran it on before, which had a Torque Trends box attached, will keep you posted.
