I’m sure many of you have heard of openPilot,
https://comma.ai/

it’s a Opensoure (but not open data) self driving car tech. it’s states to be roughly on par with Tesla’s current auto driving capabilities.

Anyways I came across this guy:

Whom ported the software and hardware into his t3 vanagon.

GitHub :
https://github.com/Lukilink/openpilot/b ... /README.md

theres a lot to be said about open pilot, and the fact it’s not built deterministically.

Welcome to 2020

Cool! Electric cars offer some simplification as throttle and braking (to some point) doesn't need any mechanical action

I consider DIY "self driving" a hazard, an accident waitning to happen. I think the driver is there to perform that function in first place and personally i do not see how insurance company would cover the expenses of a mishap in case some diy autopilot was onboard. That is just european in me :D . You know short distances between towns etc...
Another point altogether would be to motify DIY inverter to listen to OEM autopilot from converted gas vehicle and obey its commands. That would just be cool.

I personally distrust all full self-driving. I do like adaptive cruise though :).
