Hi All. I got my hand on "faulty" MG5 on board charger (EP2CCU6625A).
I did not have a way to tedt, so I decided to look inside
Not the best idea ever, as due to the cover being glued on, it was hard work and i have damaged the unit a bit.
So I'm sharing info/pics, so you don't have to repeat my mistake;-)
Just need to upload the pictures...
Bit later I will try to test if any of the functions (charging/DC-DC/V2L) are still working.

Did Damien have the same type on the bench? He did not open it, but was successfully control it by replaying CAN messages. He published a video about this in the last weeks.

I think it is the same unit, but Damian will have to confirm is unit is also EP2CCU6625A.
Once I test what is still working, I will probably try to get the PCB off to dig deeper (especialy if nothing is working).

No luck getting this unit to do anything useful.
I have another unit (same part number) and I'm trying to replicate what Damien did in his video. Unfortunately no luck so far getting it to do DC/DC to change the 12v bat. Did not get around to try V2L or hv battery charging yet.
Can anyone help please?

Provide info on what you tried. Also check if you get the expected CAN frames out.

hi Tom91,
I had busy weekend, but I can report some progress on this.
So first I just powered up the unit with 12V and did get messages consistent with Damians log. I have also managed to figure out meaning of some of them (wil attach my notes).
Then I have enabled HV DC and sent the two messages wich Damien mentioned in the video/notes as required for DC/DC function - no luck there.
After that I thought to go back to square 1 and used the complete log (minus the messages from the CCU) and after couple of minutes the DCDC started working. it took 2-3 minutes as the log is massive and the DCDC is enabled about 1/5 in the log.
I tried couple of times with smaller subset of messages, but no luck. As I needed to put the unit in the car, I did not have enough time to isolate just the required messages.
I now have two faulty/patrial units which I will experiment with when I have some spare time.

I have decided to take one unit completely apart(it's faulty for sure so..)..
So here are few more pictures..
And yes there is a burn mark next to one of the diodes I guess..
If anyone wants to see specific detail just let me know
