Prius Gen2 w/opinverter community kit questions

Greetings all,
New here and dont want to re-invent the wheel, but want to make sure the wheel will do my bidding ;-) I am in the US and have 2 gen 2 Prii (priuses?), a couple of spare inverters and a few MG2 units. I want to set up a bench test jig to help troubleshoot a P0A94-555 failure code in one of the inverters by using the test jig to power up and see what doesnt work. The failure happened without warning and suddenly, and comes back with techstream as DC to DC converter failure and will not go ready or bring up any of the system. The DC to DC converter, if I am not mistaken, is the 12 volt 100 amp battery charger module, but with this error the hybrid ECU stops everything in its tracks. I do have spare inverter unit also that I can take measurments from when I get the jig setup. I want to purchase the community 300 pound system listed in the shop here to perform these tasks with and actually afterwards do a gen 2 prius to rear wheel drive electric conversion project. I would like to put an axle with a differential in place of the straight tube in the rear and drive it with an mg2 unit in order to push the car along. I figure it should work something like the car behaves as if it is under little or no load on its own drive train and therefore will get superb hybrid mileage and use little or no gas at all, and get around the 10000 mg1 rev limit all at the same time. Also, anybody know how it will work to ship this bord to me in the US and how long it takes to get it here? Any opinions on any of this are welcome, Thanks for looking ;-)

Welcome :)
I think the DC/DC converter had some moisture issues on these. Open the bottom cover and check visually.

Thanks for the welcome, and I had not heard about the moisture issue but will check this tomorrow when I get back to my lab at home. i work at Boeing Space Systems in california during the week and drive home to arizona. I have been reading a bit on the forums and will continue to do so, and maybe find a way to repair or replace the faulty converter module. I also want to find another 2nd gen prius that I can make a pickup truck from ;-) Thanks again.

Throwing the drive unit in the rear is pretty easy to do if you just weld up a De-Dion axle (3 pieces of box tubing) to the drive unit.

The DC-DC unit is probably not worth even attempting to fix, since you can buy a whole inverter from a junkyard for like $30. Just go yank a replacement.
