Lost as last year's Easter egg. Tesla Gen 2 Charger

Hey guys (and gals),
I searched for Tesla Gen 2 Charger but only got results for Gen 3 for some reason...
I have the link from the Openinverter wiki but:
Could someone please point me to a "tell me like I'm a 5yr old" discussion about getting a Gen2 charger up and running at least on the bench.
I read through the Openinverter Wiki but left more confused.
I got an ST-LINK from Amazon. It has a USB on one side and a 10-pin header on the other.
It came with 4 wires like you'd plug into a breadboard. What do I do with those?
Now I'm given 2 options. One takes me to Damien's Github the other another post in this forum.
I downloaded the ST-LINK Utility and clicked Target --> Connect. I assume I'm supposed to be hooked up to the charger as I should see a screen "filled with a data dump of symbols." What wires do I hook up to where? Should I have 12v going into the charger?
I feel like I missed a chapter somewhere. Please help!
Thanks,
Bill
