Heya everyone,

I hope this is fitting here and I hope I can pick some brains. Across two cars this is now the 4th drive unit that has failed. Luckily the others were under warranty, but this one would be out of pocket. With SC being so far away and it being a $7k bill I figured it was better to just DIY swap the LDU. All went well with the mechanical aspect, but..

I am now stuck with a bunch of errors which I cannot overcome.
I have tried service redeploy, even with skipping modules. Upgrade and downgrade. They all fail.
I have tried to manually flash the drive inverter via Toolbox and no matter which matching hex file I try it also just fails.

Does anyone have any idea?
I really do not want to swap the inverter from my old drive unit. I would prefer figuring it out and help others in the future. Information on this seems extremely limited.

If you swap the broken LDU back do the errors disappear? If so you could swap the control board from the old ldu into the new one

Looking through those errors, I see a lot of issues pertaining to the front of the car, almost as if a harness is missing (several aero shutters and front lights). I'm also concerned by the errors about a short. Take a look at solving those.

Regarding the drive unit itself, I agree with Johannes, swapping the control board could a be a good option that is short of swapping the whole inverter. I would guess that this would solve errors GTW_f084 and/or GTW_f014, and those might be causing others. Having rebuilt my drive unit piece by piece, I can say the control board is one of the easiest things to remove and replace. Though, removing and replacing the inverter is only terrible the first two or three times.

To swap the control board, you'll need to remove the "can" around the inverter. This requires removing the HV cables, LV connector, the bolts around the end of the can near the gear box, and 4 small screws that hold the LV connector into the can. Once that is off, the control board is towards the bottom on the front side of the unit. It has a few screws holding it in, and many connectors. After swapping that, be very careful when putting the can back on that the LV connector did not come partially disconnected when you removed the can, and that you line it up while reinstalling the can, and that no wires at the gearbox end of the inverter get caught when you slide the can into place, especially the thermistor wires that run alongside it. You might need a light tap from a rubber mallet to install the can, but you should not need to hammer it back on.
