Hi everyone,

Has anyone tried converting the model S batteries from 6s to 12s configuration?
Using 8 batteries for 400V, 45kwh seems like perfect for some short range applications in tight spaces.
There is some information out there but nothing very clear for DIY.
Is it worth it? Safe?

That sound dangerous, why not go for 200V and more amps.
You will off course need thicker cables and other stuff.
But you can have components with lower voltage.

I have worked a lot with tesla batteries, and can no see that you can cut/split them....
Have seen some disassemble them, but it looks very brutal.
And what would you do with the cooling loops?

Thanks guys! It doesn't look that bad if you know what you are doing. Unfortunately, I am not that sure I've got the skills.
