Has anyone had experience in shipping these, particularly in the US?

I'm selling 2 on eBay and there's a guy from the US Virgin Islands that wants to buy them, but I am pretty sure that USPS won't accept the package considering its 55lb of lithium-ion cells. And FedEx doesn't ship there. I don't mind telling him no, I'm sure I'll find another buyer, but if there's a cost-effective way to ship them to him I would, cause I know what it's like to be in one of those hard to reach places where getting anything not local is a nightmare.

Thanks,
Brian

Find a specialist shipper who's used to dealing with 'dangerous goods'. If you ship without declaring them as batteries you are liable if anything goes wrong. A eBay vendor is currently being prosecuted by the CAA in the UK.

I read up on the regulations of FedEx and USPS and FedEx allows for packages up to 66lb with li ion only in the contiguous 48 states, but it's considered as the UN3481 as the cells are installed in equipment. I would just need to put the stickers on stating that and properly pack the box (which I always do). And would have to send them in 2 separate packages.

Anyways short answer is no, there's no feasible way to ship these to the USVI
