Hi,

Having recently purchased the open inverter boards for our SDU we're hoping to work with another team to have it controlled by CAN with ability to be shut off / derate with BMS if any issues occur

Could someone tell me how to find the CAN protocol for this?

Thanks in advanced

There is no "protocol" you can map various parameters/spot values to the CAN bus. https://openinverter.org/wiki/CAN_communication

What BMS are you using? What "team" are you talking about a ECU/VCU?

Thank you - We usually use thunderstruck but for this build we're working with ECO classics to use their off the shelf BMS, doesn't seem to have a brand we know of, it's from china and used in their conversions, they have off the shelf NIO motors they use so all a bit more advanced than we've used before.

I'm curious, what other people are doing regarding derating? just using the input signal when BMS detects a fault or?
