Leaf Gen 2 Drop in board ?

Just hypothetical........

I was looking at the shop and saw Johu Leaf Gen 2 Drop in board is for still for sale, what caught my eye is the power output 138Kw as opposed to the standard 80kw big difference

(suppose Johu will be able to answer these !!)

Is this board still a viable option ?
Is it still supported, with latest software?
I know there is more physical intervention with soldering and wiring direct to the board ( don't ask me how I know !) and more setting up
I can not see the write up for setting up the Dropin board , can anyone link it?

I know the Zombie has come a long way now, Can the the Zombie be connected to the drop in board via Can and all connections made to Zombie ?

Yes it's still supported (as far as open source stuff is), and yes it will work with the Zombieverter although there's not many examples of this running atm. I believe @Bratitude is running this setup.

Johannes did a video on how to install the board and both Johannes and Damien did videos on setting up the FOC

can this be linked to the zombieverter, can I wire the throttle into the Zombie to control the drop in board ?
Thanks

Yes, it is an Open Inverter board so it will work with the Zombie.

You need to wire the throttle, direction signals, brake and start to the Zombie.

Note you need to configure both the Zombie and Open Inverter board operating limits and other parameters.

Many Thanks for the replies, that's good then that all wiring goes to the Zombie not the Dropin board, that was my challenge before getting the extra wires to the outside world.

Can anyone link me the setup procedure for the drop-in Open Inverter board , was some time ago when I first tried to set it up.

Think I will try this out

I did already mention these, a search would have bought these up for you.

The wiki… there’s a full page on the drop in board. It’s linked on the main wiki page….

It's worth noting if you plan on controlling the leaf OI board with the Zombie, this is all over CAN and a lot of the connections for the OI board are not needed with them being moved to the ZV. (Throttle, contactor control etc.). With ZV being connected to the OI board with CAN H and L.

But it's worth getting the OI board setup, tuned and spinning smoothly first before adding the ZV into the mix.

many thanks
plenty of info to get started
Will I have to wire the throttle into the OI board temporarily just for setup purposes ?

Yes, so initially setup the OI board without the zombie using the wiki links and videos above. When you have it spinning smoothly and controlled add in the ZV and move the wiring from the leaf inverter plug to the ZV for things like the throttle and contactor control.
