Gs450h Battery Re-use

Hi all,
I am currently looking into battery ideas for a conversion I am working on, currently have it working on the bench, Gs450h transmission and inverter, with the Zombieverter, all wiring complete including pre-charge. The person in charge of this conversion (my boss) owns the Gs450h and is wondering can it be put into the next car (Jaguar Xk8) as a temporary measure.

Whilst looking into charging more I was curious if anyone had reproposed this battery already and if so, how did they go about the charging?

Thank you

Are you driving on electric only? The original Lexus GS 450h battery has very little capacity, so it wouldn't drive very far ....

Yes electric only! The goal is to now have this as a main EV battery, we are going to use this as a test bench for various researchers.

We also have this battery in house and we could at least get the car started, we aim to put in a more suitable battery down the line, but just want to see if anyone has repurposed one before/is it safe to plug-in charge

All the best

Not sure what charger you would use ..... the Lexus GS 450h is not a plug in hybrid, it relied on the V6 driving MG1 to both charge the battery and power MG2 ..... The battery was really only there to spin MG1 to start the V6 .....

As Terry says, the GS450H battery is small capacity and also quite low voltage (215v maybe?)... it will work for bench testing everything though.
