What is "UDC" as in "UDC data"? Not defined anywhere.

I'm reading and learning all I can, but the acronym "UDC" (as in "UDC data") escapes me, though it is mentioned many times. I've searched this forum and on the general web, but I cannot find the meaning for UDC nor can I sus it out from context. Likewise, "IDC" but that term isn't used as often. I'll happily add it to the wiki glossary if someone would kindly spell it out for me. Thank you.

Thank you all, I see now that VDC is more common in English-speaking countries, while UDC is recognized internationally. I have submitted an update to the wiki.

I just checked why this is and dates back to latin

"urgere" which nicely translates to urge. Pretty weird choice actually
