First year of conversion (December 2022) Tax = free
Second year of conversion (2023) Tax = free

I just did my first year of Road tax after passing dvla checks last year for an EV conversion and I was £0. This was a couple of weeks ago. I did a post on another thread here at the time. But that’s because mine is ‘historic’ meaning 40+ years.
I do have to do an MOT though.
I’m not up to speed on what ‘proper’ EVs ought to be charged. But thought there was some sort of reduction for older EVs.

That's what my mx5 got taxed as... That seems correct given that the engine is less than 1500cc and we are registered before 2001.
Although I did get a new v5 come in post last week with the rebuilt comment on it and tax class changed from plg to electric... I assume they are getting ready for pay per mile

That's interesting! I haven't received a new V5 yet (not expecting one) - I would quite happily take the Pay per mile over the £220 a year! My mini doesn't do 2000 miles a year so it would still be a big saving!
