"contactors get extremely hot from 12v power when closed for extended periods of time" (here)

Testing suggests that Tesla contactors require economizer circuits and it's important to note that the Open Inveter boards do not currently implement this functionality.

Model 3 contactor 12v amperage pull measured at 8.3A continuous (without economizer).
