Re: [WIP] 1964 Scout LS600H conversion

Started working on my doors - something I have been putting off for a long time. They are in really bad shape and I may need to look for a better set somewhere.

The hinges are frozen solid onto the doors with Phillips screws. I had to go all Scarface on them and 'say hello to my little friend' :D ...

Re: [WIP] 1964 Scout LS600H conversion

Finally got shifting working - turns out I did not have SL1+ and SL2+ wired up to 12V+. Wow this thing can accelerate in low speed! And with zombie release 2.30 it's really smooth compared to before. Hats off to the developers for getting zombie to where it is, truly amazing.

Now I'm running out ...

I haven't changed out my oil pump bearings, and it's really noisy, so decided it is time. I have a spare transmission, so started changing out its pump bearings in order to do a quick rotor swap over onto the Scout:

Re: [WIP] 1964 Scout LS600H conversion

Contactor from Sbox likely wont survive quite a low current rating. Also check the coil spec to see if it needs an external economizer.

Yes, clearly I haven't put enough thought into this yet. I looked up the specs, and it does look too wimpy, and is not economized internally so I'll pass on it ...

Re: Wiring Tesla BMB's for fewer than 6 cells

After more messing around, I got it to work. Turns out I have a couple of BMB's that are not happy wired in a 4S config, the other 18 BMB's work great. I tested the two offending boards multiple times with 4S, 5S and 6S packs. Perhaps a tolerance issue, or maybe my sketchy ESD protocol had a play in ...

Yes, batteries will be fully enclosed in boxes. I'm undecided whether to have it front facing (as per original) or mounted further forward and ...

Title changed - thanks, I see that was confusing.

I'll try resoldering today and see if I can get the readings to behave.

On a related note the blue connectors were hard to source and looks like only comes in a header style configuration. I'm wondering if I can change out the pins for a wire ...

Wiring Tesla BMB's for fewer than 6 cells

I'm planning to use tesla s bmb's and simpbms with my Chevy Bolt pack. It's 96 S with 8x10S and 2×8s modules. Each module will need 2 bmb's.

I am doing a test with a 9s pack from a hoverboard pack to understand cell wiring. This way I can simulate wiring for one half of the 10s module and one half ...

Looking at a picture in the OSTI report, I can see that yellow LV wire shielding crossing over the path of where my brass inverter post connects. Looks like I will need to tear in and see if there is enough slack in the cables to tie them out of the way

I've been trying to figure out why my VeroBMS (SimpBMS) is throwing errors and not showing correct cell count. I'm suspecting bad slave boards, more to come on this as it may or not be related to the below.
