L110, complete with the oil pump, and the oil pump controller (G1167-30020). Received these from a yard in Quebec, but never used them myself. Includes the high voltage cables as well as other wiring harnesses. Also included is a new clutch, to make an input shaft locking plate.

Really nice looking work. The braided sheath and tesa tape makes me think of SuperFastMatt's "Re-wire Your Whole Damn Car" video. For those that haven't seen it, it's good:

Re: Project demystification - make openinverter.org more accessible
I've been thinking about the cheap vs. powerful pages, and I'm not sure how to best describe those ideas. I don't think it's the binary proposition as it's currently stated. It's more of a continuum or sorts.
Some cheaper, less powerful options on one end (Prius components), some expensive and ...

I'm more than happy to help with this. I've actually stopped myself more than once when I was going to make a major changes to the structure or organization of the wiki. I've felt like there should be some consensus, or at least sounding board, for high level decisions.

Back with another question.
Are any sub-$300 oscilloscopes worth buying? If not specific models, what capabilities would make an oscilloscope appropriate for use on projects here? I have an old tube oscilloscope for working on audio gear, but it maxes out in the 1KHz range.
I don't mind headless ...

Re: Ending the support threads?
Great post, Matt. I think there's a lot of gatekeeping in some of these communities, DIYEC more than here, for sure. Whether conscious or unconscious, it's not easy for someone to stumble upon the community and bootstrap themselves up to a working level of knowledge. We don't prioritize making it ...

Not sure on the batteries yet. I've known from the start that batteries are likely to be the most expensive part of this project.
I think either Volt (Ampera) or BMW packs will be the cheapest based upon what I've seen on the used market over here. I may wind up buying a small pack just to make ...

Clutch disk arrived today, via ebay: viewtopic.php?p=48324#p48324
Now to decide how to attack it with the grinder.
Next, I'll be ordering the blanking plate from this thread: viewtopic.php?p=20934#p20934

Scary stuff! Glad to see it resulted in minimal damage. As you said, very lucky indeed. Looking forward to v2, and how it's put together with the current options available.

Bumping this up to see if there's been any additional information gathered in the past year.
I found one seller on ebay for the Toyota disc, currently under $50 shipped (in the US), and they accept offers:

Happy to report my Zombieverter VCU board arrived today. I likely won't touch this for another few weeks. A point of clarification: are transmission jacks crap in general for getting it in place, or just that particular type? Any recommendations on something that's not crap?

What bench power supplies are people buying these days? Are any of the different ebay / AliExpress / Amazon ones better than others?
How many do you have? Do you connect them in series to get a higher voltage?

That's very good to know. Thanks to everyone replying.
I'll do some more digging into the sync serial length differences. Maybe I could add a 'sync serial length' column to the existing table in the wiki to illustrate which are compatible.

So the Camry inverter that you've bench tested would be what you referred to as a matched pair with the GS450H transmission? Which G9200 model is your inverter?

Re: Help me choose a cheap(er?) inverter for a L110
I sourced a US 2007-2011 Camry inverter (cheaper to buy and ship to UK than a GS450H inverter was in the uk at the time!) and mated it to a UK GS450H transmission and it ran correctly in a bench test setup (60V DC and no load) using the GS450H VCU board
Yes, this is generally what I'm hoping to ...

Help me choose a cheap(er?) inverter for a L110
I've been selling off some ICE car parts, getting ready to start purchasing my EV conversion parts.
Since I'm in the US, and the car I'm converting is Volvo 240 (front engine, rear drive, solid rear axle), a L110 from a GS450H seems to be the best option. However, the GS450H inverters seem to be ...

1993 Volvo 245
Hello! I've been lurking for a while, and I feel it's time to make a post. I've been a Volvo enthusiast for most of my life. My parents had a white '83 245 from new. I've owned several Volvos over the years. I bought this one a few years back, thinking I'd do the typical Volvo bits (turbo, 5spd swap ...
