Re: Acceleration surging 450h
Sorry.
This problem is now happening during blended and mg1+2
Still trying to get a decent log.
I think i caught it happening here around row 79 onwards for a short bit.
The potnom is decreasing even though this is most likely WOT event as the voltage is dropping.
Sorry I don't have other values, I ...

Hi.
I cannot get a log to work.
I have just enabled both mg1 and mg2, the issue goes away when I do this.

Re: Acceleration surging 450h
Hi Tom I will try again for logs.
I haven't been able to plot or log anything via the web interface, ever.
In the vid I posted, I'm applying full throttle. You can hear it stabbing up through the RPM.
To me it feels like one motor is accelerating as it should and the other is cutting in and out.

Acceleration surging 450h
Hi gang.
My car has started this intermittent acceleration problem at full throttle.
Check out this video. You can hear the intermittent bursts as it climbs the RPM

Re: [FIRST DRIVE] 1974 Ford Capri + GS450H
I am based in Australia, so not sure if the a123 modules are really viable for me :(
There is limited info on battery building, I guess for good reason. The a123 modules look like a great simple DIY form factor, will need to take measurements to see if they fit.
I would like to have 4 modules in ...

Playing about with the regen. Currently just using the brake pedal regen.
The presets for regen were crazy. thing pretty much went full blast out of the gate when the brake was applied. wowzers lol...
got it behaving a little better now.
Listen to that oil pump go!!

Hey thanks!
I have 4 a123 modules in 2 pairs. One up front and one in the back.

Haha, ya, so the zombie has little to do with controlling charging.
The Thunderstuck MCU looks after charging via CAN
I just need the HVreq to work to close contactors for charging.
Totally under the impression I just have to send 12v to the hvreq pin.
Sorry for the dumb query.

Re: WIP 1974 Ford Capri + GS450H
Hi. Got the low speed judder sorted out. I was going the wrong way with some parameters.
Only way to get it to charge is to put it in run mode and plug in the charger.

Wow, that is a super clean installation!
Thanks!
I like to plan things out in my head when I'm running boring (not drilling) machines at work...
Fingers crossed when I plug it in it will charge, and when I turn the key it will precharge, and when I push the throttle it will move. . .
Don't ...

450H inverter polarity
Hi. Quick question on the inverter.
Is the HV polarity the same orientation between RHD and LHD inverters, ie, positive always on the left, negative on the right?
This pic from the wiki looks like the RHD unit

Re: WIP 1974 Ford Capri + GS450H
Thanks!!
My shifter works, but I don't have enough travel to access the momentary selection beyond drive.
Does this just select the other gearing option that's not set as "normal" in the zombie? If configured to do so?

Re: WIP 1974 Ford Capri + GS450H
Finally able to get access to the car.
Winter is very long here.
De-iced the car completely.
Worked up my battery boxes a little more with a coolant path, worked on the shifter assembly and mocked up a little more stuff.
Excited to get back at it.

Re: Zombieverter + Thunderstruck MCU
If you're using the Thunderstruck charger, it has a 12v output that's active during charging. That's how I wake my vcu. Can also be used as a drive inh although it won't be active if charging is finished but the plug is still in.
There's also a NC relay in the charger that opens during charging ...

Re: Zombieverter + Thunderstruck MCU
Zombie configures the IVT different then default so you will need 2.
Power on the zombie, utilize a 12V input signal to set it to charge mode - possibly need the charge interface set to Chamdemo (or other but can easily be made to work (worst case I code it in)).
As for drive away protection ...

What functions do you want to have the Zombie do and which the Thunderstruck BMS?

Then the Thunderstruck MCU to handle the battery charging and management.
