Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

No probs. Looks like just a socket is used to remove the terminals. There was a youTube video of a battery pack being stripped down but looks like it has been removed sadly.

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

Had a look at Gregski's (thank you for that) youtube post:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLN8A1YEx6M

about calibrating the pot values for the zombieverter with my throttle pedal.

Here are my values:

Pot 1 min: spot value 308: set my parameter to 320
Pot 1 max: spot value 156: set my ...

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

I've been playing with a VAG SEAT 2005 Pedal which I bought el cheapo on ebay - while I had some time free over the festivities working out the pinout from the pedal with a multimeter. Hoping to test it with my zombieverter at some point.

Part number relates to a few cars during the 2000-2010 age ...

Re: [DRIVING] - Z3(00)

They are quite handy because it will reduce the need to take the lamp covers off every time you need to adjust the lights. Eg for an MOT.

Heres a few images of them to give you an idea of what they look like to fabricate.

The spring presses against the back of the headlamp pod housing/moulding ...

Fair enough. I have 5.75 nch headlamps using morette rings which are spring loaded and adjustable with wingscrews from the rear inside the engine compartment.

Re: [DRIVING] - Z3(00)

Honestly getting the right rubber profile is the much harder problem as I want a few pieces to test but last time I looked it was quite pricey online and nowhere around me sells it.

Might be worth masking off and using a marine sealant like black pu40 or sikaflex . Similar to when they bond ...

Re: [DRIVING] - Z3(00)

Welcome to the world of kit and component cars. every one is different in some way. :) Probably some self fabricated tab/ears out of bits of a4/316 stainless steel will hold a lens cover in place. Quite retro too. 4 or 5 would suffice and be minimalistic.

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

As part of the my project collection process I was looking for some kilovac ev200 contactors on ebay the other day and managed to bag a nice schneider electric metal contactor box stuffed with half a dozen or so kilovacs, standoffs, fuses and glands from a UK built EV bus. A bit overkill number of ...

Re: [DRIVING] - Z3(00)

Yes it does looks amazing. I like the retro look and that midnight silver type colour looks awesome on that shape of car and with those wheels. You must be proud of how far its come. I would be. You now need a garage to keep it like that!

I am planning doing same for my outlander project. Scrapping s-box and going with Kilovac EV200HAANA and IVT-S-1K-U3-I-CAN2-12/24 shunt. Just sourcing all the bits to build a HVJB up now.

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

I was hoping that there might be a familiar s-box inside to build a junction box with precharge/contactors etc. I think its all encompassed in the tin can underneath the SME. Probably have to build one up or something.

Neat. Nice to see it all one colour, even if its primer grey for now. Seen quite a few cars that colour as an actual 'on the road' colour these days.

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

Agreed re the capacity. That was the driver to me getting it. Will also be interesting to see whats inside the SME box. I suspect thats where the contactors are. The HV cabling seems to exit out of the back of the SME box underneath the battery pack. Might end up having to either build a contactor ...

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

Yes its looking like quite a step change from the previous iterations. The battery ally housings look different too. One of the batteries (the one on its side) has terminals at the ends, whilst the others have terminals on the same side. In the YT vid above there are 3 csc modules referred to. 1 has ...

Re: [WIP] Midas Gold Mk3 Coupe - mitsubishi outlander project

Picked up my BMW SP51 battery today (from a march sometime onwards 2025 33e touring).

Lifted the lid to take a look inside and it looks like a different setup to the earlier ones. Note the different type of connectors now. Similar to some other BMW ev models. eg iX

Looks like its still a 5 battery ...

Bought a second set of outlander ...
