I'm still in the hardware collection stage of my project and am trying to find BMS connectors.
aftermarket connectors for the Gen 2 BMS (is Gen 1 the same?)
- 40pin sense lead connector to BMS
- 8pin temp sensor connector to BMS
- 16pin sense lead connector to BMS
Or a likely easier option, OE BMS wiring out of a Leaf
I found this thread, https://www.diyelectriccar.com/threads ... s.181297/ , in which Kevin Sharpe shares a few PDFs of the connectors he used, (attached for convenience). Though, he must not have needed all the connectors on the BMS.
Another question: I likely need to retain the temp and current sensor inputs on the BMS, do I need to source those components from a Leaf? or will a 3rd party component suffice?
thanks!
I'm looking for either:Gen 2 Leaf BMS Connectors and more

There is some more here: https://openinverter.org/wiki/Nissan_Leaf_BMS
When you've found the series on digikey it's easy to find the other pin count variants with the similar part search.
I am also at the stage where I need to replace the Leaf current sensor by a third party one. I know it's a 5V type. Will let you know.
I can measure the 25°C resistance of the temp sensors if that helps.

Re: Gen 2 Leaf BMS Connectors and more
OMG, there i go not checking the wiki!
that answered my harness question. Seems they're interchangeable if i swap some pins. Do we know if both BMS versions use the same CAN messaging? I wonder because my hope is to allow it to communicate with my PDM and enable the charger.
you're too kind, Johu
i'd appreciate any info you have on the current sensors so i can assist in searching. Also, i had only been looking on Mouser, where i found the other connectors. I'll report back if i find the rest at digi-key. I also have some professional connections to TE directly that i may reach out to if i have to.

Yes I've used both and they use the same messaging.

Here's the battery thermistor resistance curve from a 2013 model Leaf.
