I wonder if we can use let say the leaf motor and Johannes logic board to make the system works as a 50-100kw power generator? Does any one try it or have a good understanding of this idea?
Given, it must be efficient as the regular generator on the market. and cheaper for diy.
Regular 30k generator head cost about $3,00.00 without engine and weight about 450lbs compare to leaf motor 130lbs.

It will be always in regeneration mode. Why not. Continuous power is mainly limited by your cooling system I suppose.

Re: Any motor as a 50-100kw power generator
Thanks Johannes ..
Let me get a leaf motor first and put them together on a test bed, and Will have to order 1 board and give it a try soon. Probably plus 1 hr support too.. and hope more will come there after.
Do i need a 120v battery bank to have the generator produce 120v-360v ac single phrase or 12v battery will do the job?

Oh, you want to produce AC? Said setup would produce DC. You'd need another inverter to make AC from DC.

Your battery voltage has to be higher than the peak voltage of the target AC waveform if you are to do this using regular automotive inverters. I would suggest you to get a 400V plug-in hybrid battery pack.

Re: Any motor as a 50-100kw power generator
In theory you could use one inverter to provide a regulated DC bus from the "generator" and a second inverter to output the 50/60Hz AC.
You also need a system to govern the engine speed and you'd have several control loops to keep stable.

Thanks gentlemen for your input...
For the speed, i may used either the Nano or the Photon...

I think you can use a normal AC motor but you need to speed It Up above it's nominal rating so you are in Slip teritory..
