Hi all,
New member here.
I've actually designed my own mains power inverter that runs on the 200V DC battery of the Prius.
The aim is to use my inverter and the Prius to act as a backup generator for my house when grid power goes out. Also good for camping.
Has anyone tinkered with this stuff here before?
I'm specifically interested in how much current can be "siphoned" from the battery before the Prius throws a code, or shuts down.

Re: Tapping in to Prius HV battery
My first solar power system helped Naomi Wu, now I want to do even more with DIY solar.
Re: Tapping in to Prius HV battery
I talked to Richard from PriUPS and he says he never had an issue, so it sounds like the Prius doesn't monitor for parasitic drain. So id say it should be good for 10kw while stationary. I'll try some load tests and report back.
