1939 Citroen Traction Avant 7c conversion project  [FINISHED]

Post by PrimetimeEV »

Hi there, I'm posting a question on behalf of a vehicle owner who would like to convert a 1939 Citroen Traction Avant 7c over to Battery Electric. The vehicle is based in South East England and currently holds an 11b engine. Any knowledge or experiences of such a conversion would be very useful. Many thanks in advance. :D

I've been lurking for a while and just registered to respond to this. I'm in the process of gathering parts for doing the same - based around a 1951 11BL.

I have only found one electric TA conversion so far - here: http://www.aussiefrogs.com/forum/citro% ... ction.html - although the builder looks to be in the UK. Please keep updating with your progress.

My favourite old car of all time. It would make a fantastic EV but the purists would be up in arms.

Here is one example of someone making progress.

Thanks for posting this. I believe that its the same car I linked the images to above.

I have purchased an 11BL (the smallest of the three sizes) and am having it shipped. Once I get it I'll be able to figure out what will fit drivetrain wise.

Pretty sure I'll be going to hell for this - at least as far as the purists are concerned.
