Should there be a ground strap from chassis to the SDU? Does anyone know how this is configured on a factory car?
It seems odd to not have a safety ground... of course it would probably need to be lifted to connect to the inverter board via wifi!
I measure no continuity between the 12 volt ground on the 20 pin connector and the SDU case.
I see suggestions to use telescoping shields on the signal wires, where are these being tied to ground?
I think it would be better to tie these to chassis than to the inverter 12 volt ground...

My 2018 model X front drive unit came with a ground strap. I connected it to a chassis motor mount.

You can see the ground strap on the right side attached to the inverter.
