Zombieverter Params.json I have shown mine now please show me yours!!

Post by dadiowe »

After a long struggle with various issues getting the car road worthy, mostly self inflicted. I am finally getting to use my car, Z4 on a daily basis.

I enclose my current params.json file for my 450h zombie 48kWh set up. I have been playing with various settings trying to get a balance of smooth running, gear changes ( I do understand that the actual gear change is new addition) and range and I have not tried regen yet.

If I have MG1 and MG2 selected and Auto gearchange I struggle to get a decent pull away in first gear unless Throtmax is less than 40, I have the torque cutting in and out as soon as I touch the throttle and the gear change is harsh.

If I just use Auto and MG2 and throtmax set to 60 this gives a fairly useable, but boring drive, with a range of about 140 miles, which is great when I need the range. But we all like to have a bit of fun now and then, I would like to have an "all guns blazing" set up when I don't need better range.

I know Damien had some fun on the Dino with his car in 1st gear so it seems that I must be missing something in my parameter settings.

Any help would be appreciated

"throtramp": 100

excuse me. What lead you to this? This means throttle is instant no ramping.

I have tried Damien's settings at throtmax 100 the car is no good, at 80 it is better but I am getting light throttle cutting at medium acceleration. My battery is at 282 volts so this could be the inverter protesting at low volts I suppose.
Does anyone know what happens if you go below 280? I see Damien's is set to udc270.
I will charge up the car tonight and see what tomorrow brings!

Really?!?

"udcmin": 280

So throttle derate if UDC goes below this.

Your UDC min of 280 isn't going to help, you may sag under that at 282V and heavy current draw.

Oops, looked at wrong params. 260. Plot your udc under acceleration and maybe potnom, you might still sag below 260. The inverter doesn't seem to have a minimum voltage. I've used 44V to spin it.

Thanks, I will charge tonight and come back tomorrow about the torque limiting and a plot as suggested.
The reason I want to know the minimum useable voltage is to work out my absolute max range. I have set my udcmin to 260 which is a bit low,
i.e. 3.1v x 12s x 7batteries = 260v. I don't want the inverter to cut out because of some sort of internal low voltage protection.
