how does image hosting work on here? I used some service and now all my pictures are gone! It's just like photobucket but without a paywall!!
Any recomendations?

In the forum articles, you go to "Full editor & Preview" , then "attachments" and you can add pictures.
Or, in the full editor, just copy&paste the image to the text box.
It is recommended to *not* link outside images, because they tend to disappear.
