Hi everyone, I'm assembling my gs450h build now.
I'm starting with 2 30kwh (174ah) CATL packs, in series. But then I started wondering if I can simply add in a 3rd later (obviously in series).
Is it more efficient to run higher voltage builds? Or will I lose a lot to heat?
I've read that it can accept ~300v just fine. But what actually happens when you exceed that? Do we see pros and cons? Like performance and range?
Is higher voltage a healthy way to gain a greater range? Or should I focus on upgrading my battery pack in parallel?

I know of at least one conversion running the GS450 inverter at 600 V. So it must be 1200 V IGBTs. I think that gives you headroom. Higher battery voltage - lower battery current.

The issue will be less with the GS450H and more with the other HV components. While they will happy with the standard 96s-108s or so you will start getting issues with chargers and DC-DCs if you increase the voltage too much. So if you upped your voltage with a 3rd pack in series at a later date you might find that you have to also replace your charger and other HV ancillaries.
I've worked with a GS450H project running at 650v, I can't say it's any more efficient, but the torque drop off is much higher in the rpm range.
