Flexdisk dimensions

Post by steveknox »

Hi,
Does anyone have the dimensions of the gs450h flexdisk?
Or even better does anone have a CAD model of it, or perhaps a known after-market solution for a solid coupler?
I need to make a solid coupler for my application.

Thanks all

That is not your problem on your setup. Solve the diff mounting issue and length compensation first.

Unless everything drivetrain is mounted solidly, without flex, and perfectly straight a solid coupler will be a bad idea.

Really worth listening to the guys above. Having watched the clips you posted, your problem is not the flex coupler. Fix the Diff mount properly and check the alignment and as tom says the length (it does look like there is too much compression on the coupler already, how was it fitting the propshaft, if you had to force or pry in the flange then it is not right) and you will be fine. Fit a solid coupler as it is and you will break something real fast.

In the interest of completeness for anyone searching for this information and only finding feedback on my personal project, attached are some measurements.

It would be good to verify your measurements on the bolt holes / studs in the yokes. The flex discs can get distorted over time.

You still might struggle to center this unless there's a centering concentric bore.

There are 2 threads for anyone confused. The other has videos that look to show a guibo and a u joint on one short coupling that's allowing the driveshaft to pivot off center and wobble. This solid replacement is to try to eliminate that possibility - my current understanding anyways...
