Leaf J1772 Confusion

Post by retrEVnoc »

I have a salvaged j1772 inlet connector from a nissan leaf and was trying to figure out which wire from the harness was prox and pilot. Couldnt find any continuity until i took it apart and behold! The prox and pilot pins do not connect to anything beyond a few inches past the inlet! The two pins on the next connector “downstream” are just two ends of the same doubled back wire!

Whats going on here? I figured the prox and pilot pins would go somewhere but apparently not. I was trying to figure out if I need AVC2 or AVC2.r for my level II charging, but now realizing the charge port has other ideas….

The orange connector is just the power connector, L, N, PE, containing a HV-interlock bridge to detect an unplugged connector. Seems the CP and PP was running on a separate connector that was cut during dismantling.
