since the Lexus GS450h powerplant seems to be a popular conversion combo for rear wheel drive vehicles and since I live 2 miles away from the world's largest wrecking yard that allows you to pull your own parts I figure I will share with you a mini series I like to call "The Junkyard Report" where I share with you mostly through pictures what some of the OEM EV conversion parts look like and where they reside on our beloved GS450h in the wild, how hard they are to pull and should or should you not bother with using them on your own project
so first up the Throttle Pedal
Year: 2007 (3rd Generation ie 2007-2011)

so pulling this thing was a nightmare, first you can not see the two 10mm bolts that are holding it to the firewall, you can get one with a super long 1/4" extension and a 10 M&M socket on your favorite cordless impact, but the second bolt is buried way up there and you have to manually ratchet it out
also you will notice I had to cut the carpet out, to get to the two bolts on the floor that hold the base to the floor, and not pictured was a huge lump of styrofoam that was wedged under the pedals
I like to call this the Captain Hook Design

and she's out, note this pedal uses the same big plug like the 2nd Gen (2004-2009) Toyota Prius - I have not confirmed if the wiring pin out matches exactly but I will
