I came across a new BMS on diyelectriccar that communicates with the original Model 3 BMS boards. It solves the Batman and balancing problem. This makes it possible to use Model 3 modules without the difficult wiring involved with Orion, for example. The website went live today, the prices are displayed, but it is not yet possible to place orders.

Nor is the complete documentation available yet.
I can also see quite a lot of evidence of taking learning from other BMS projects, so a little doubtful on if there is not opensource code used as a base for some of the code.

Re: New BMS for Tesla mudules and more
There are certainly many BMS systems available, including open source ones, from which one can learn and copy. I am not aware of any project that has solved communication with M3 boards without harvesting Batman chips, nor do I know of anyone who has managed to achieve balancing even with Batman chips. It is true that in an earlier post he states that he is familiar with Damien's work!

No this is about the ethics and licenses that come with opensourcing work and code.
Not the features he has developed on his own.

I lack the knowledge and the ability to find out where the code comes from. I don't want to condemn or justify anyone here.
Re: New BMS for Tesla mudules and more
Hi guys, small world. I take offense at the implications made in this thread. Did you both bother to read my About page on my site? My experience alone should give you an idea I've been doing this before you were born, and I have no need to copy code or hardware designs. When and if you get a chance to use my product, you will see that it's indeed greatly superior to the existing products in the hobby space. I'm very familiar with the BMS prior art because building them has been my job for almost 20 years now. I will not stoop so low as to comment on the quality of the work I've seen, and the absurdity of thinking I could have copied any of it.
As Tom pointed out, my LCD did have a similar battery icon to his. So what! I liked the colors. That doesn't mean I stole any of his code. The code behind it is completely original. I changed that screen today, because I found the thought of anyone confusing our products entirely distasteful now.

Re: New BMS for Tesla mudules and more
I didn't start this thread to compare two systems or discuss accusations of plagiarism, but because I was happy that a solution for my battery modules was finally on the way. As already mentioned, my coding skills are negligible compared to yours, Charlie and Tom, even though you probably hadn't written a single line of code before I was born.

Re: New BMS for Tesla mudules and more
No need to make this into an attack on others. You have been super secretive about your development and then I see a screen that reminds me in layout and some of the wording of what I had with SimpBMS so I find it intresting. I am not doubting your skills and abilities.
How did you reverse engineer the Tesla model S Serial comms bus?
As this is something Jarod, Collin Kidder, EVTV Jack (RIP) and myself done along long time ago publicly. https://hackaday.io/project/10098-model-s-bms-hacking

It would be good if the BMS could output the Victron protocol so it is plug and play with ZombieVerter.
