Enerkey BMS

Post by JNHEscher »

Anyone use these? - https://www.enerkeybms.com/sale-5355666 ... a-300.html

I have four of them for my car conversion I'm working on. Their brand is also known as Neey, and now PowerDog, but Enerkey is the manufacturer.

So far, I have gotten the datasheet and communication protocols, but no manual. Tons of settings on them and I'm having a little trouble getting balancing to work again.

What is your question? Do you need CAN protocol?

No need for CAN or coms at the moment.

I'm currently attempting to get them to activate balancing while the cells are at lower voltages (2.7-2.8v). I've been adjusting equalization settings this eve and balancing still will not active. I can take screenshots of what it has.

I think you activate balancer in can and set its limit. See jk bms protocol i posted in link above

Hmm. I'm not sure that would work, but I'll look in to it. These have Bluetooth. Kiwi at Enerkey told me that CAN has a bug at moment. Some folks have tried to get CAN to communicate with no luck.

I've been forcing an imbalance to attempt to trigger balancing. These use active balancing.

hm... I remember from using jk bms you could only set start of balancing from 3v or 3.2v.
I also tried to set it higher than 3.6v but it wouldn't go...

I'll email Kiwi to see what she has to say. If it won't start balancing unless all cells are above something like 3v, then the user adjustments aren't as useful.

Update: Kiwi got me working. Just one setting had to be changed.
