As already described, the Gen 2 Tesla consists of three individual chargers, each with a maximum output of 3.3 kW. If you connect them to three phases, you have the European version. You can connect the three phases together to get the US version and single-phase charging with a maximum output of 10 kW. You can do this permanently or switch it mechanically or with a relay. The Gen 3 is exactly the same, only with a maximum of 6 kW per phase. But be careful, there are also Gen 3 chargers that only have 2x 6 kW. These are then referred to as 72A or 48A.
