Troubleshooting

Post by Bigpie »

I previously was able to spin the motor and drive the car, but it's now no longer spinning. Gen 3 prius board.

Is there a series of steps to check and help troubleshoot?

No error reported by the web interface.

Pot nom goes from 0 to 100 with the throttle.

Angle plot looks good, small amount of jitter and looks as expected manually turning.

Dir is forward.

IDC doesn't seem to increase, il1 and il2 also not appreciable increases with throttle.
UDC is ~350V as expected.

No attempt to rotate in manual mode with manualid and manualiq.

Last time I had an issue with the same symptoms, I left the car until the following day and it was working again.

What SW version are you using and what parameters?

Does the main contactor close? Are you in run mode?
Using manualid/iq seem to not work with 5.00 or newer. Try 4.97 if you want to command manual currents.

Can you hear any PWM whine statring when going from neutral to forward/reverse?

Still using 4.95, goes in to run mode, contactors close. Parameters haven't changed, https://openinverter.org/parameters/view.html?id=18
Was working before I removed the inverter for access to brake lines.

Pretty sure I can hear a whine.

Troubleshooting step 1, ensure all connections are made securely and not missing bolts to connect the motor phases

When you removed the inverter have you reconnected phase wires in the same order as before? If you change phase wire order syncoffs will change too.

Same order, but if you look at the photo you'll see the issue if you are familier with the gen 3 prius inverters :D

I had forgotten to put the lower bolts in, joining the phase connections.
