Tesla Cobra - Parameter Advice

Post by mtrehy »

Hi All,

After 3 years my Tesla Cobra is now road legal (2024 plate) and I now need to get it running as well as possible.

The car has Performance LDU, 12 x 5.3 KW Tesla Modules, Orion BMS 2 and CCS.

I would be really grateful for any advice on parameters. I am very much a mechanical engineer so some of the terminology is a bit vague to me. The car drives nicely but has no regen (i'd like some). I'm happy to sacrifice a small amount of performance for durability.

I have copied my parameters below and very grateful if anyone could let me know if there are any obvious issues.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Tesla Cobra - Parameter Advice

A few notes:

The parameters controlling power/launch look to be within normal ranges, all good there - you can likely get a bit more punch with a lower fweak but that is a bit of salt-to-taste.

For regen, right now you have brakeregen=0 which means no regen with the brake pedal, and regen ramp is very low too. I would start by increasing each of them.

I've found regen on the LDUs to be very sensitive to small changes, so I would take a look at some of the established parameter sets/threads for good starting points. As a warning, the LDU is capable of immense amounts of regen. I would definitely go find a parking lot to make tweaks in, rather than try to do it during street driving.

The regen section of the parameters wiki https://openinverter.org/wiki/Parameters is pretty explanatory, but if you have questions about specific parameters, I can probably help explain.
If at first you don't succeed, buy a bigger hammer.
