Hi all
After a lot of reading and searching, i pulled the trigger.
ordered a GS450H from ebay and a Camry inverter g9200-33171.
the plan is to put them in a Audi A4 Avant 2004, RHD.
i have experience with the Tesla SDU as im finishing with that conversion.
so i m not nervous, IM EXTREMELY nervous since its my first time with the Gs450h and i have NOT seen 100% working combinations with the camry inverter. i got that inverter cause it was only 150$.
so wish me luck.
i hope to document (most of it) and put it here.
Any advice or recommendation are more than welcome
Peterson

Finally got some time today to check out the camry inverter
Seems like there a DC-DC converter on the bottom as there are 2 mfr codes
g9200-33171 inverter AND g9270-33021 hopefully a dc-dc converter.
i managed to take it apart, everything looks brand new inside.
on the top are the inverter components and on the bottom the dc-dc conv.
in the middle 2 capacitors. 750v and 420v
here are some pictures

What year Camry is this inverter from? I have a G9200-33010 from a 2007 Camry that I haven't spun yet with Zombie, but plan to do so soon (I'm very slow). There is a video out there where Artur spun a GS450h with a 2007 inverter via the GS450h VCU:
Maybe you saw it already.
Your inverter differs in part number, but certainly looks similar. The connectors are all the same (though differ from the GS450h inverter). My guess is that selecting GS450h in Zombie is probably a good start.

the g9200-33171 is from 2012-2017 i think
yes, i saw Arthur's video. but he said he had problems and changed to the GS450H inverter which way more expensive than the camry one.
in another thread viewtopic.php?t=2895 @Zechy was trying to get it working by modifying the code. its more similar to the IS300H

Here are some pictures of the DCDC converter side
im not sure if it can take 420volt as the dcdc converter was connected to the oem Lexus battery at no more than 300v

Finally received my GS450H.
came i good conditions. high voltage cables missing.
oil pump attached!!!!
now its time to find the low voltage connectors... then hook it up to my Camry inverter with fingers crossed.

It'd be interesting to know if this can be used separately from the rest of the setup. It's quite compact and could be a good source for cheap DCDC

Might be possible but cooling would be rather complicated as there are some components mounted to the casing for cooling

I wonder how hot the DCDC really gets.... would a finned heatsink be suitable to keep them cool, or possibly a PC radiator?
No idea what sort of loads these things are designed to cope with.

If the car has electric power steering and electric brake booster then i think they should able to handle around 100A at 12-14volts
I still havent try the DC-DC converter as i dont know if it can take 400volts without modification

A good point but these are peak values, and you are unlikely to be braking hard and turning hard at the same time for any amount of time so peak load is likely to be quite short.

Totally true!
For now im going to look for the gs450h connectors so that i can do a bench test...eventually i hope to get the dc-dc working.
i just bought a wrecked gen3 prius also. i saw on the wiki that you can use the dc-dc converter by supplying 12v to 2 of the dcdc conv pins. might be similar to the camry dcdc

as the inverter connector is no where to be purchased... i made my own "pigtail" with some waterproof automotive connectors.
where can i find the pinout for the gs450h connectors? i couldn't find all of the on the wiki

Odd they seem to have disappeared off the wiki. There used to be a image with all pinouts and the mapping for the zombie but I cannot find it now, it did have one or two errors so potentially it's been removed because of this. Hopefully someone will be along who still has it. Potentially @bigpie or @tom91

It's fairly easy to fix stuff in the wiki when you see it rather than leave it to others. I have fixed it but not quite sure what the original intention was.

Yes noted and I would have were I not dealing with screaming kids at the time, at which point nothing is fairly easy unfortunately! I've gone in an added the pinout to the GS450H page now and sorted a bit of formatting on both that and the Zombieverter pages

Audi A4 Avant 2004 RHD
got it as a "gift", the owner said he was playing mechanic during the covid-19 times, he stopped and never got back to it.
so after 4years, its in my dad farm now, where im working on it. i already registered the car to my name. but the previous owner lost the key.
i order one of those BANVIE push button kits from amazon, but the steering wheel is locked. and i cant remove the ignition switch cylinder without the original key
I did manage to remove the ignition switch and turn the car on, to find that the gauge cluster still works and the screen is not damaged. Now to find CAN messages to drive the cluster. (any direction would be highly appreciated)
Also today i got the GS450H MG2 spinning on 29volts DC, pretty slow, but i had FWD and REV control with the ZombieVCU set to GS300H.
Next is to remove the engine and gearbox and test fitting the GS450h in the tunnel, which looks kinda small, but we'll see. hope fully i can push it all the way back to have more space in the engine bay for other components.
I am also documenting in more details for later reference.

Spent quite sometimes disassembling the engine to remove it.
The engine was already partially open… so that made thing easier for me.
I kept the ending harness cause im going to use it like Damien is doing with his L200. Unlike my first conversion… i removed everything from the and made my own harness.
This time i got the A4 wiring diagrams soo its gonna be a fun xmas.

I did some bench testing today (more like pallet and floor testing). at 130vdc
i got MG2 running with the camry inverter, runs good is in forward. but really slow i reserve. when i apply more throttle in reverse it stops/
when i tried MG1, it runs good in fwd and reverse but with the input shaft locked, the output spins in the opposite direction compared to MG2.
tmpm and tmphs never went above 35 degrees C while testing.
i notice when i run MG2 in forward direction the speed in the spot valus reads negative rpms ...like -800 rpm
after a while i hear weird "klonks" in the gearbox when i spin MG2.
also when i pulse the start pin on the zombie, i get inverter whining as it should. but then i press throttle, motor spins but keeps spinning even when i let go.
in the video below you can see my setup. 130vdc going to the inverter. VCU connected to the inverter via toyota CSI (htm mth rep clk).
temp sensors, prius throttle, d/r to the vcu
i did not connect the transmission solenoids while testing.
in the video below you can see the gs450h spinning but not stopping even with no throttle input. i had to remove T15 from 12V to make it stop. if i start the invertere before the gearbox spins down to a stop, it will keep on spinning again.

Please provide the parameters.
Also note you are using a mix and match set op items so wiring might need changing for rotation direction.

Hi Tom, thanks for the quick response.
i did swap the phases to MG1 but then it doesnt spin at all. (that was for direction change as i use to do that with drone BLDC motors)
find below the attached json

Hi there,
i need some advice according to the pictuer below.
i watched a couples videos on GS450H bench testing. in Drive mode, the all spin counter clockwise (looking a the output shaft, so POV is behing the transmission). but in my case, to drive the wheels forward, i need to spin the shaft the other way around.
can the GS450h be driven in either direction ?
any advice is appreciated. TIA
