Hopefully this is close enough to EVs to be ok to post, esp as it’s the Fully Charged team behind it.
Looking for funding for a one off / pilot episode.

Zapheap? That's some fantastic branding.
The success of this will depend on how well it's marketed. It's an odd thing to crowdfund, because you're not getting anything out of it.
I hope it's successful. I could watch that kind of content all day long and it's been 20 years since anyone's done it.

Robert explains in the vid that it’s v expensive to produce and they couldnt get any channel interested in funding it. So think the strategy is to make it to prove it’s worth a channel investing in it.MattsAwesomeStuff wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 6:26 pm

That would be an awesome show.
Junkyard wars (and Mythbusters, and Monster Garage, and Roadkill) had such a huge impact on me. Just look at the nonsense we build. At one point I think I counted 10-12 different make and model vehicles that had contributed parts to the '40.

If at first you don't succeed, buy a bigger hammer.

That's a tough sell, as a charity. :/ianlighting wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 6:34 pmSo think the strategy is to make it to prove it’s worth a channel investing in it.
Publicize the risk, privatize the benefits.
That said, he's asking for very little for a TV production.
But THAT said, he's asking for an outrageous amount for what people pull off on Youtube.
Maybe it's biting off more than he can chew. This could be run by volunteers on a small scale first to demonstrate value. All you'd need is some insurance company sponsoring the actual scrap and the liability costs, and a little editing budget for the filming. Doesn't need TV production quality, you can get damned close with just phones or cams people already own.
