leaf battery pack peak amp
I'd like to run my Tesla LDU with a full leaf pack, but I'm worried that the pack won't be able to handle the power.
All I found was a peak output power of 228A in the wiki, is this the 'on-paper-max' or 'real world max' ?
thank you

sounds good @johu, I can look into that. Do you have anything started with eagle already?
Took some pictures of the board today: (have a cutout on the lower case so I can debug/probe the board if necessary)

I forgot to mention, I also charged a battery with this board (110VAC through MG1, charging 100VDC battery) which worked OK.
@johu let me know if you need/want help bringing up the adapter-board with KiCad

prius gen2 remix
Hi,
I created a remix of the gen2 prius board:
https://github.com/ksmola/PriusG2
I built it around Ampseal connectors and made a 3D printed enclosure for it (I can upload some photos later).
It features the bigger 100pin F103VBT6, mostly because the 64 pin was already out of stock @jlc, however ...

Re: Prius Gen2 Adapter Board for CHARGING
Got it.
Just to recap:
When in charge mode the PI loop regulates the pwm duty cycle within pwmin and pwmax which changes HV battery voltage to achieve set charging current (on AC input).
There is no upper current limit for the input, right?(in case the PI loop freaks out due to poor tuning)
Is there ...

Re: Prius Gen2 Adapter Board for CHARGING
My bad, I had the wrong pin pulled up high. My HV battery bus voltage is now within the expected window. The charging current however is not where I'd expect it to be. I set it to 1A and saw 2.5A output. Set it to 5A and 10A and also got 2.5A both times. When increasing pwmmax to 10 and max charging ...

Re: Prius Gen2 Adapter Board for CHARGING
quick update: So the DESAT error was due to the 12V supply drooping when the contactor closed. Replaced it with a solid 12VDC supply and no more errors.
I see 164.8VDC on the DC bus and 164.2V on the HV battery side.
pwmmin is set to 7.18, pwmmax to 9.0.

Re: Prius Gen2 Adapter Board for CHARGING
I ran into a strange issue while testing charge mode.
When using 24V from a powersupply everything seems to work OK.
However, things didn't quite work when I switched to 110VAC:
A few seconds after plugging in the 110VAC (U and W on MG1, 30Ohm precharge resistor always on) the AC contactor closes ...

Re: stm32103R8 uart issues
I removed the RB chip I had on another board and replaced the R8 with the RB. I was able to flash the no bootloader compile ok, and the LED is blinking but it gets stuck after a while.
Strangely none of the release files work (no alive led, even on the RB), with or without loader.

Re: Chevy Malibu Hybrid battery
Thanks! Well since its a hybrid all the ice related gear is still needed and takes up space so that's an issue. I like the size and specs of the Malibu battery, but i doubt its the only option. Just looking for something 1-5kwh and >300V

Re: Chevy Malibu Hybrid battery
I think even just 1kWh would be useful for this project. I doubt being able to reverse engineer the BMS CAN stream without a working donor car. Can you recommend a BMS for this battery?

Prius G2 connectors
I'm wondering what the dcdc (6pin C5) and battery (1pin B+) connectors are one the Prius g2 inverter.
They sure do look like Deutsch but I couldn't find a part # for the mating plug.
Does anyone have some info on that?
Thanks!

Re: Chevy Malibu Hybrid battery
The build is a hybrid, gen2 inverter and leaf motor so range is not a very big concern. I was wondering about the 450Wh usable? like what does that mean vs the 1.5kW? I've done some can message reverse engineering before but I don't have a working malibu to get a sniff from, so that will be difficult.

Chevy Malibu Hybrid battery
I found this battery and based on the specs it would be pretty ideal for my build:
Thanks
Has anyone of you used it before? I assume I wouldn't need a BMS, and could I charge it with the prius gen2 inverter (off 240V AC) ? Thanks

I got it all running, using a 48V battery, leaf motor/resolver and FOC firmware. only issue I'm having is that the motor won't stop spinning once it started (after throttle input)

Re: Prius Gen2 bench test
Thanks Johannes! I got it hooked up to the inverter, and was able to spin the motor in manual mode.
I'm using a kollmorgen kbm motor, and a 12V PSU.
The motor itself does not have an encoder, but I could buy one if needed.
Next step is hooking up a TPS (I have a spare e46m3 pedal) and run it in ...

20pin connector only has +12 and GND connected, I can see that my opmode switches to RUN when touching +12 to the start pin.
I'm getting the following error msg:

thmphsmax is already maxed out to 150°C , but tmphs is at 166.28°C
