Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
And finally on the board that uses the NCP1060 , I need to know how pins 3 and 5 of U36 (the NCP1060) connect and what value components are used.
Many thanks. If too much work am happy to pay postage for the boards and return them to you once measurments are complete.
I took some pictures with ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
Also on the 960 ,and this will be the tricky part, U31 gets its HV side 5v supply via R243. I need to know where R243 connects and how they derive the HV side 5v on this revision.
This is indeed a tricky one, it goes towards the MCU and comes to a filtering with L13 and C160, This is actually ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
@Nathaniel, the board scan is perfect thanks. I can highlight on a few pictures the measurements I need if thats ok?
On the "960" board with the missing parts, could you measure the values of R173 , R174 , R186 as circled in red? I suspect D56 is a zener diode. Could you measure its voltage? will ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
was unexpectedly workshop time tonight so unfortunately no inverter component measurements but oil pump tests. I connected the oil pump from an older model 3 motor and it responds to various speeds and can also come to a complete stop at 0. I also noticed that my newer Model Y pump isn't reporting ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
I will do the measurements tomorrow evening, but i have both of the versions of the boards you are looking for. But the u36 ncp1060 i found that only in a older board with the 3D1 and 980 making. Al the newer ones looks different in that part of the board.

A crude test board to see if the NCP1060 circuit behaves.
Does anyone have access to a board like the one in the pic? I believe it is fro ma "960" inverter.
i have this inverter and also the one that have these parts populated, i have almost all of the different types (They all have a problem ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
I have a lin logger tool, never used it but i guess now is the time te try it out. I have also a picoscope or a digital scope that can decode lin so i give that a try.
Also I have a older model 3 motor, the 3D5 so i can plug that oilpump in and see what that is doing.

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
I don't know if I'm the first other than the developers to have a working beta board, but I'm happy to report that my motor is running!
After some initial attempts I couldn't get a working angle readout, but it soon turned out that the correct settings had not been entered.

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
My inverter is now neatly assembled, with working temperature sensors. but I really can't find the Tesla wiring harness anywhere anymore so I had to order a new one, which is on its way so in the meantime I've been doing something else.

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
Thanks for your reply. Given the schematic, various sensors could certainly be installed. For example, an NTC 10k, but then the question is whether that curve is included in the firmware. At this point I would really like to get something mounted so I can start testing. I have an NTC 10k lying ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
hi all, recieved my beta board so I'm very excited to test it. I have installed the ICs, transformer and current sensors and everything seems to be fine so far. The power supply is working and all the gate drivers are reporting ok, so I'm now about to install the PCB on the inverter. However, the ...

To add a couple to the gallery, replaced the LIM dit the Foccci controller, after finished the CAN implementation in my VCU project AC charging was working so I wanted to test the DC charging. I have 3 chargers near me and all of them worked perfectly in one try!

PCS AC limited to 8a, DC-DC clips quickly
hi, i have a number of PCS units at my disposal. unfortunately it is unknown from which year car they come and at what moment they came out of the car (for the firmware version).
and it should also be noted that the units do not have to be in complete working condition.

Thank you very much! It helped a lot.

You're welcome.

If I keep the LIM and the sense board on I don't need to do a weld test.
